Himes W. Manges “Buzz’
Born in Everett, PA, July 30, 1926, passed into the arms of his Lord December 27, 2018 in Bath, NY. The served two years in the US Navy as a Boatswain aboard the USS Palawan. He married Marjorie Wade October 1956 in Akron, OH. Buzz worked as a machinist for 23 years for the Ohio Brass Co. 1969 he purchased land and developed a golf driving range in Norton, OH. In 1986 Buzz and Marge retired to DeLand, FL. Both were avid golfers and Buzz had four “holes-in-one” during his retirement. Besides golf, he enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle. Friends said he was “hard to beat”! Buzz and Marge were members of the DeLand Country Club, Honeybees Square Dance Club and Bass Capital Squares of Georgetown. After Marjorie's death in 1993 Buzz became a volunteer at Florida Hospital DeLand and love to Time spent there. In addition to his wife, Buzz was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews and devoted companion of 22 years, Alberta Burns and sons. It was Buzz’s wishes that there be no services and no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory maybe made to first united Methodist church, 115 East Howry Ave., DeLand, FL.
