On Wednesday June 12th 2019, Jim Benedict went home to be with the lord. He is survived by his loving wife Gena, (Theetge) Benedict, his children; Kristen (Shad) Wright, Sherry (John) Condie and Jimmy (Faith) Benedict along with his granddaughters Aubry Wright and Avery Condie. He is also survived by his mother Aloise (Personius) Benedict, sister Carol (Tim) Edwards, Carl (Mary) Benedict, and Joe (Joan) Benedict. He is predeceased by his father Floyd Benedict, Grandmother
Granny (Mary) Personius, Grandmother Leona Wright, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Sherry and Kenneth Theetge Sr., Brother-in-laws Skip Beach, and "Stub" Theetge, and nephew Shawn Beach. He is also survived by many brother and sister -in-laws, nieces and nephews, great neices and nephews and his special K9 Coco.
Jim was born and raised in Cayuta, New York where he and Gena grew a beautiful family and his pride, Benedict Machine Co. When Jim was young he helped work his family's farm, graduated from Odessa Montour High School and then spent many years working for Cuttler Hammer Corp. and other machine companies before starting his own company. His weekend afternoons were spent on the softball diamond with his daughters or the motocross track with his son.
Jim also loved to travel. Whether it was a trip to Outer Banks with his wife Gena, Southern states for a hog hunt with Jimmy or to visit Krissy in Georgia, he would pack his truck up and hit the road. He was also an avid outdoorsman, reader and always ready for a game of cribbage.
Jim was a very selfless man who would drop everything to help you out. He enjoyed hosting chicken barbecues, family picnics and being the star of the volleyball game!
Later in his life he became a member of many rod and gun clubs; as shooting and building guns was one of his passions. Just within the past year he became a board member of the local Honor Flight organization.
Within these past few years, Jim became lost in life. He struggled daily and just recently the passing of his father had really taken a toll on him emotionally. Jim has gone "home" as he often put it, and will be missed each and every day.
