Obituary

Loren “Zeke” Wood
Horseheads, NY
Passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the age of 86. Zeke was born May 1, 1934 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Walter and Mabel Cramer Wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Janice Bird Wood; children, Loren Wood, Brian (Lisa) Wood and Lori (Gary) VanNordstrand; precious grandson, Gage VanNordstrand and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by brother, Carl Wood, and sisters, Shirley Skalko and Barbara Smith. Zeke graduated from Horseheads High School in 1954. He served his country honorably with the US Army and retired as a truck driver with several local companies. He was an avid fisherman and fished all over the area. In his later years, he often reflected on the times he spent with all his fishing buddies. Zeke sang often and his voice was heard at many of the local churches. He sang at his own wedding as well as many of his friends and families. The family welcomes your condolences and prayers at this time but services will be held privately. Those wishing to remember Zeke please consider memorial contributions to CareFirst (Hospice), 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870 in his memory. He will be remembered by Janice as the love of her life and dance partner of a lifetime. Condolences and words of comfort may be expressed at Zeke’s Book of Memories at www.sullivansfuneralhome.com

Mrs. Wood (and family) so sorry for the loss of your lifetime partner and husband. He always made me laugh all those years ago when I visited Chip over the college/summer break. Sincerest sympathies, Teresa (Chip’s friend)
