Wendy was a graduate of Sayre high school and then went on to graduate from the Ridley Lowell Business School. She worked as a travel agent at the Mark Twain travel agency for many years. She then moved on to working at the American Express travel office in Corning. She then took some time off to be with her two children. As the kids grew she became a bank teller and worked at the HSBC Bank (Five Star) as a bank teller. Once the children were out of school she went back to working for American Express from home as a bid proposal writer. I will always remember Wendy as the most beautiful woman I have ever known. Beautiful on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside. She always put her family first. She made many personal sacrifices for myself, our sons, friends, and other family members. She enjoyed helping out her church family when they needed help and when setting up the Sunday meals and doing the clean up at the end. Wendy enjoyed shopping and finding the best sale bargains. She enjoyed her pool time by just floating and soaking up the sun and reading a good book. She had a soft spot in her heart for stray cats. Wendy fought through the roller coaster ride of cancer treatment and progression. Through it all, she used her love for God and her family as motivation. Her love and faith in God grew stronger as the cancer progressed. As a family we had drifted away from God for many years. Wendy was touched by the Holy Spirit and was determined to bring our family back to God. With God's help she found our family a church to attend. Over time the family got saved. As her health was fading she felt a piece in her heart knowing that one day she would see her family again in heaven. Even though we feel the pain of losing Wendy, God our Great Comforter will ease our pain. God has told us the way to get saved, so we can someday see her again. She looks forward to seeing you all someday!
