Aleceia Ivie Sedlak\nJanuary 23, 2002 - January 17, 2020\nOur Golden girl and beloved daughter passed through the veil of this life as a result of a motor vehicle accident. She is deeply loved and survived by her parents, Peter and Linda Sedlak of Horseheads, and Ilona Hults of Elmira; her siblings, Jace Sedlak and Eliza Sedlak; many generations of relatives; a huge loving and supportive church family and many friends. Aleceia was a college-bound senior at Horseheads High School who actively participated in drama, NYSSMA, various school choirs, loved music and singing, played piano and was a passionate creative writer. Aleceia had strong moral values, was known by her classmates and friends as one who noticed the sad, lonely or down-trodden. She felt the spirit of inclusion for all. She was "a voice for those who couldn't find their own". Her cheerful disposition and positive attitude has left a deep impression on others. Aleceia was an active leader in the Young Women's organization in her church and as a girls camp leader and serving on youth committees. The family will welcome relatives and friends to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1060 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 between the hours of 3-5PM. Aleceia's Funeral Services will be held following at 5:30PM. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery on Thursday, January 23, 2020 (on her birthday) at 11AM.
