Jean Ann Smetanka\t\nHorseheads, NY \nPassed away peacefully on May 6, 2019 at the age of 82. Jean was born on July 26, 1936 in Elmira, NY, daughter to the late Arthur and Florence Miller Stansfield. She is also pre-deceased by her brother, James Stansfield. Jean is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Smetanka; sons, Brett and Scott Smetanka; daughter, Dawn Rodabaugh (Bob Drake); grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Sandor, Cory Rodabaugh, Kaitlyn Rodabaugh, Avery Rodabaugh; great grandsons, Theodore and William Rodabaugh; brother, Robert (Cynthia) Stansfield; sister, Joyce Sutliff and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean retired as a secretary with the Horseheads Central School Dist. She was blessed with 59 years of marriage and will be lovingly remembered for the care and thoughtfulness of raising her family. She loved the nature and enjoyed her flowers and bird watching. To celebrate Jeans's life the family would like to welcome relatives and friends to Funeral Service at First United Methodist Church, 1034 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY on Friday, May 17, 2019 between the hours of 11 AM and 1PM with services to follow. The Rev. Rhonda Kouterick will officiate.
