VAUGHAN, LAWRENCE C. \nLifelong resident of Horseheads, NY passed away unexpectedly due to complication of heart surgery on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the age of 81. Larry was born on September 11, 1930 a son of the late William and Anna Kocourek Vaughan. He served his country honorably with the US Army, was a member of the American Legion, Horseheads Elks Lodge #2297 and worked for several years at Elmira Chrysler-Plymouth in Elmira. Larry was also very active in Horseheads Cinderella Softball. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly Doner Vaughan, two sisters, Agnes and Mary and brother, Cliff. Surviving Larry is his daughter, Vickie (Steven) Wood; grandchildren, Jamie (Josh) Menchaca, Ashley (Rocky) Thomas and Andrew Wood; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Anna and Lizzy; brother, Billy Vaughan; sister, Frannie (Dick) Daley; special niece Mary Mack along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10AM and 1:30PM. Larry's Funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of hours with Rev. Rhonda Kouterick. Larry will be laid to rest along side his wife in Maple Grove Cemetery with Military Honors.
