Lewis F. Parmelee \nage 71 of Wellsburg, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1947 in Binghamton, NY to the late Fred and Beulah (Ruland) Parmelee. He is survived by his loving wife Mari L. (Pike) Parmelee and his children; Lou (Amy) Parmelee, Lonnie (Melissa) Parmelee, Evie (Jimmie) Gray, Leah (Steve) Swarthout, Susan (Lee) Giammichele, Debbie (Todd) Dentzau, Marsha (Nate) Soper, Donald (Danielle) Cook and first lady Char Parmelee. He has 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Siblings Carol (Will) McQuerry, Dawn Gilmore, Pearl (Don) Campbell, Jim (Cheryl) Parmelee; in- laws Alicia (Eric) Feiock, Garrett Pike, Sandra (Joe) Hostrander, Denise (Jon) Dittler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his K9 companion Sammie. Lou was predeceased by his grandson Cody and siblings Don Parmelee, Joe Parmelee, Marguerite Fredericks, Marge Cornell, Marshall Barney, Freddie James Parmelee, George Parmelee, Norma Parmelee, Ruth Howell, and Beatrice Ludovici. Lou was the former owner of the Dixie Restaurant in Southport. He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting and fishing. In Lou's younger years he was an active Boy Scout leader. He loved muscle cars and car shows. He also loved car racing and could be found at racetracks around the area taking in a race! Lou was a very charismatic person making friends were ever he went. He was a warmhearted man who smiled often. Lou will be missed by all who knew him.
