Patricia L. Ostrander \nErin, NY \n\nWent home to see her Lord unexpectedly on Monday, August 15, 2022, after a brief illness at the age of 84. Before retiring, she was a much- loved school bus driver for the Horseheads Central School District and retired after decades of service. Pat, along with her husband Paul, served as foster parents in their home for over 30 years. Countless number of children lived with them throughout the years. Many of these children saw Pat as a loving mother figure and they would often return to visit her and call her long after their time in her home had passed. \nPatricia was a long- time member of Breesport Baptist Church and previously served as their pianist and member of the choir. She was a talented pianist and singer and even accompanied her daughters as they sang at church events, most memorably the annual Mother-Daughter Teas.\nPatricia loved being outdoors working in her many flower beds. She was especially happy to have added wave petunias to the mix this year. She loved living in the country surrounded by the trees and the pond that provided the setting for so many family memories. Patricia’s quick wit and sometimes irreverent sense of humor made for many laughs for those in her company. She was fun-loving and mischievous at times making her a favorite of the grandchildren. Patricia loved watching college sports on TV and was a tireless cheerleader for her family and friends in all of their endeavours. There was hardly a rummage sale, flea market, or craft show that she could pass up. Patricia was generous to a fault and would do anything for those in need and always went above and beyond for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.\nPatricia is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Paul Ostrander. Cherished mother to Sherie (Leslie), Grady, Lisa, Bill (Becky), Bobbi (Mark), and Terri (Jeff) and stepmother to Paul. Adoring grandmother to Erik, Mikael, Marissa, Connor, Waverly, Matthew (Bre), Nick and great-grandmother to Harper, Abby, Carter and Madison as well as several nieces and nephews.\nPatricia was preceded in death by her son Michael, parents Harold and Martha, siblings Phyllis, Duane, and Dale, grandson Kristofer, son-in-law Thomas, grandson-in-law Justy, and former husband William.\nIn accordance with Patricia’s wishes, there will be no viewing. The family will welcome relatives and friends to the Breesport Baptist Church on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 6 -7PM. A Church Service will follow at 7PM in her honor. Condolences and words of comfort may be expressed at Pat’s Memorial Page at www.sullivansfuneralhome.com.
